Researchers have discussed at length the relationship between school quality and school failure leading to incarceration. Often, these studies employ data supplied by the county or the state as a measure of school quality. This overlooks the experience of the individual student, which could be excellent even though the school is underfunded. This research seeks to examine the relationship between school funding, school location, individual school experiences, and criminality leading to incarceration.
