This presentation highlights a collaborative initiative undertaken by researchers and a Community Corrections Board (CCB) in Colorado to enhance decision-making processes in community corrections. The project aimed to create and implement a decision-making tool used by the CCB in decisions regarding halfway house placement in the county. Utilizing direct observations, surveys, and interviews with board members, the project sought to understand current practices and gather feedback in the creation of the tool. The tool was then piloted with both current and prior cases to examine its implementation process for buy-in, and to test its congruency rates among past board decisions. This endeavor aligns with broader justice reform efforts by promoting fairness, transparency, and evidence-based approaches in community corrections. The presentation discusses the methodology, findings, and implications of this collaborative project, highlighting its significance in advancing justice system reform efforts.
