This study offers an examination of the perspectives of a sample of Latinos in Texas regarding their experiences with law enforcement, perceptions of them, level of trust, and willingness to engage given potential efforts to compel local law enforcement to perform immigration enforcement. Utilizing a qualitative design of interviews in two cities, data were analyzed examining patterns and themes in the responses. These findings are compared with perspectives a decade and two decades prior and with those of other ethnic backgrounds. Policy implications are offered to inform productive law enforcement and Latino interactions.
