Study in Crime Patterns for Developing Smart Policing-Based Police Education Training

Abstract

This study aims to investigate which forms of crime are suitable for the development of smart policing-based police education and training. Smart policing refers to a strategy to solve problems in police tasks through strategic management, analysis, research, science, and technology. Due to massive decrease in budget, law enforcement agencies have been forced to find the most efficient ways to reduce and prevent crime within a given budget, and smart policing is the new paradigm of policing that has emerged for crime prevention and crime reduction. Smart policing is a scientific study of police effectiveness and is characterized by a multidimensional and multifaceted approach, pursuing the effective results and innovation.
This study aims to investigate the types of crimes that are suitable for developing smart policing-based police training based on a survey of police officers' preferences. Through this, this study aim to find the optimal training method to enhance the law enforcement capabilities and field responsiveness of police officers. Police officers can strengthen important elements of police work such as situational responsiveness and compliance to due process through this study, and it is expected that police officers can play an active role in the development of smart policing.
