This presentation highlights successful partnerships between child-serving systems and providers, including contributors to and outcomes of their success. The presentation also provides an overview and discussion of common program implementation challenges experienced by collaborating child welfare and juvenile justice agencies and community-based program providers and ways to address them. Strategies to be highlighted include: low-cost infrastructure and processes; the role of implementation science and teams; use of tools to guide continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts; and leveraging federal mechanisms such as the Family First Prevention Services Act to support and sustain evidence-based programs and practices. The information to be shared is based on a decade of experience supporting Maryland’s child welfare and juvenile justice systems in implementation of evidence-based programs.
