The Impact of Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) Technologies on Violent Crime Clearances and Case Processing: An Extended Evaluation of the Miami RTCC

Abstract

Emerging research has found that the rapid deployment of information to police through so-called real time crime centers (RTCC) within local level police departments improves case clearances and can facilitate crime reduction. This presentation reports on findings from an extended evaluation of the Miami real time crime center, which analyzed case clearances over a longer period and assessed for the impact on case adjudication subsequent to arrest.
