Anxiety and other stressors are challenging experiences for emerging adults that can influence their participation in various forms of misbehavior (e.g., academic dishonesty, substance use, and criminality). Age and life experience is expected to moderate the strength of these relationships. Using general strain theory as a conceptual framework, this research examines a sample of young adults drawn from a university population to examine how varying coping strategies provide additional moderating effects.
