Individuals closest to the challenges that they experience are often not asked what could help them and what should happen to improve the criminal legal system as a whole. Using qualitative interviews from incarcerated, formerly incarcerated individuals, and individuals on supervision, this study will present findings on what individuals believe would help them succeed upon reentry and what supervision agencies and officers can do to improve their practices. By hearing from the voices directly impacted, we can develop policies and programs that are more aligned with what individuals need and would be helpful.
