The Global Terrorism Trends and Analysis Center (GTTAC) operated by Development Services Group and the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center at George Mason University supports the Counterterrorism Bureau of the U.S. Department of State in the collection and analysis of global terrorism incidents and trends. In this paper we will present our findings as they relate to the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. Hamas and the PIJ launched the largest complex and coordinated attack since 9/11. An assault that involved bulldozers, motorcycles and vehicles, drones, IEDs, naval incursions, land assaults on homes, farms, and kibbutz’s and Israeli military posts. In total the attacks killed 1,033 civilians including 33 American citizens, 300 Israeli soldiers, resulting in 222 kidnappings, and wounded 3,400 others. GTTAC researchers will highlight some of the details of these attacks, the locations, and the perpetrators.
