The Cambridge Study in Delinquent Development (CSDD) is one of the most important prospective longitudinal studies in criminology. This paper will report on the results of the most recent wave of data collection in which (at least) 30 men have completed full social interviews at an average age of about 70. The results suggested that most of the men interviewed were living successful lives and generally considered themselves to be healthy. However, a significant proportion of those interviewed continued to be involved in forms of self-reported offending, which may call into question conceptualizations of desistance. The limitations of this research will be discussed.
