While research on commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) predominantly centers on girls and young women, transgender individuals represent a high-risk group deserving equal attention. Building upon the 2013 study by ECPAT, which highlighted the oversight of boys as victims alongside the scarcity of services for them, this project seeks to replicate and update the findings to reflect changes over the past decade. Moreover, recognizing the urgent need for inclusion, we expanded our inquiry to include transgender victims. Through collaboration with key stakeholders and a survey of anti-trafficking service agencies, we gathered data on transgender individuals referred for care. Our study explored risk factors, identified critical needs, and assessed available services. By shedding light on the unique challenges faced by transgender victims, our findings will serve as a catalyst for informed advocacy efforts and policy recommendations at local, state, and federal levels, aiming to enhance support systems and foster inclusive responses within the realm of anti-trafficking initiatives.
