Exploring Conspiracy Theory- Related Tweets After an Active Shooter Event

Abstract

Little is known about the reach and content of conspiracy theory-related posts on social media specifically regarding active shooter events. This study examines the engagement with and content of conspiracy theory-related tweets in the six months following the active shooter event at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Main findings and implications will be discussed.
