The effects of mass incarceration on black children and families

Abstract

The US has among the highest incarceration rates of adults in the world. Black men are about five times as likely to be incarcerated as White men. This significant over concentration of incarceration among Black men has dramatic consequences for Black families and children. This presentation describes those consequences.
