Gender-based violence and intimate partner violence affect many people, but is often underprioritized in community violence prevention efforts. Recognizing the importance of serving survivors of GBV, the Oakland Department of Violence Prevention is supporting a comprehensive strategy implemented by multiple community-based organizations. The strategy includes outreach and crisis response, emergency housing, wraparound supports, and bedside advocacy. Through a process evaluation, we conducted interviews with service providers and participants and analyzed program data. We describe preliminary findings about the implementation of these services. We also discuss how gender-based violence and these services intersect with group violence and other prevention and intervention efforts.
