This study analyzes predictors such as target availability, motivation of offenders, capable guardianship, and accessibility, based on the environmental criminology framework, as significant factors affecting the decision to engage in illegal logging in Kenya. Spatial and temporal analyses are performed and provide further detail about the impact of each predictor variable. This research, therefore, proposes to explore the situational factors that influence the decision to engage in illegal logging.
