Gender political violence in Minas Gerais and Brazil

Abstract

Among the various forms of violence suffered by women, we can highlight gender political violence. It can be characterized by aggressions, offenses and persecutions suffered by female representatives, who integrate, in particular, the legislative power. This type of violence when compared to that suffered by male representatives, occurs much more seriously. In this sense, the objective of this study is to verify, from the perspective of newspapers, how this violence is characterized, its dynamics, as well as the prominence given by the media to this type of violence. The methodology used in the work is qualitative, from the literature review and the analysis of newspapers of great circulation.
