This paper investigates the intricate dynamics of cannabis prohibition and reform within China's entertainment industry. Despite global shifts towards legalization, China maintains stringent laws criminalizing cannabis use, presenting unique challenges and opportunities for reform. Through qualitative analysis of legal documents, media sources, and cultural narratives, this study delves into the historical context and societal perceptions of cannabis within China's entertainment sector. It explores the factors underpinning China's steadfast stance on cannabis, including political ideology, public health concerns, and international relations. In addition, the paper examines nascent discussions and grassroots movements advocating for cannabis reform, considering their potential impact on the entertainment industry.
