The rise of social media has created a new platform for minors to connect with others but also increased their vulnerability to online exploitation. The increased risk of minors engaging in risky behaviors on social media platforms, including sharing personal information and interacting with strangers, is a growing concern. This study aimed to investigate the impact of social networks on minors' vulnerability to exploitation on social media platforms. The study design incorporated an analysis of existing research on the subject. The analysis findings indicated that social networks are essential in shaping minors' behavior on social media platforms. Minors with weaker social ties and smaller social networks are likelier to engage in risky behaviors. In comparison, those with stronger social ties and more extensive social networks are less vulnerable to online exploitation. These findings suggest that interventions that strengthen social ties and social networks can effectively reduce the risk of minors' exploitation on social media. Parents, educators, and policymakers should focus on enhancing minors' social ties and networks to reduce their vulnerability. This study provides insights into the impact of social networks on minors' behavior on social media platforms. It emphasizes the importance of social interventions in ensuring their safety online.
