This paper examines artificial intelligence (AI) and the use of such technology in the classroom. The need to reimagine education has become increasingly clear. As an emerging technology, AI has broadly changed the economy, transformed industries, and altered the educational landscape. While the precise effect of AI on society is yet to be determined, teachers should learn about such technology and find ways to incorporate it into the curriculum. Leveraging generative AI as a tool, teachers can create individual learning pathways, drawing on the strengths of students, to enhance competencies. Pedagogical recommendations for setting the tone during the first week of class and use of technology in the classroom are shared. Benefits along with legal and ethical concerns of AI use are discussed. Finally, examples of AI-enhanced icebreakers are shared and ways in which technology can be used to enhance student learning and engagement are explored.
