AltAc: Show me the Money

• In Event: DCS’s AltAc Series: A Panel for Job Seekers – Navigating into AltAc Careers

Abstract

Often students transition from graduate student salaries to AltAc industry jobs without any understanding of the value, and specifically the monetary value, of their skills. Using data from a nationwide survey, this discussion provides an overview of the standard salaries across the key six industry spaces, offers insight into the types of benefits and packages individuals negotiated, and describes the range of what’s monetarily possible. Through this presentation, audience members will get deeper insight into typical compensation and offer packages for starting positions in AltAc spaces. With this information, audience members will be better positioned to negotiate and get better starting salaries.
