The National Institute of Justice (NIJ), the research, evaluation, and technology agency of the U.S. Department of Justice, supports research and development to improve knowledge and understanding of crime and justice issues and to improve policy and practice at the state, local, tribal, and federal levels. Disseminating knowledge derived from objective and rigorous scientific research to inform efforts to promote safety and advance justice is fundamental to NIJ’s mission, and it has been developing and enhancing its research dissemination tools to make findings accessible and actionable. One element of this work has included making improvements to CrimeSolutions, NIJ’s evidence clearinghouse. This presentation will highlight innovations to evidence translation NIJ has implemented to help overcome barriers to making evidence accessible and actionable.
