Evidence Translation to Support International Criminal Justice and Anti-Crime Programming

Fri, Nov 15, 9:30 to 10:50am, Salon 7 - Lower B2 Level - Area 4

Abstract

The U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is the primary entity in the U.S. government that supports the design, development, oversight, and management of international criminal justice-focused foreign assistance. As part of this mission, INL's Office of Knowledge Management (INL/KM) founded in 2019 is tasked with improving how INL designs, monitors, and evaluates success in our programs and integrates expertise and evidence into INL-funded programming. To meet this challenge, INL/KM initiated a series of evidence translation efforts to ensure that criminal justice and anti-crime programming reflect evidence-based approaches. This presentation will discuss INL's latest efforts on translating evidence from practice, expertise, and research to inform its mission.
