Human trafficking is a significant global crime problem, yet few people realize the nature and scope of the problem. This is largely due to a lack of education and resources devoted to not only understanding trafficking, but also avoiding and combating it. This paper presents preliminary results from a survey of college students' knowledge and perceptions of trafficking, as well as their educational exposure to the issue, and their opinions regarding the adequacy of that exposure. In keeping with this year's meeting theme, policy implications about how trafficking can be better addressed in an educational context are also addressed.
