The causes and correlates of juvenile delinquency have long been explored in the literature. This study summarizes the major findings about our understanding of delinquency, an important topic due to young peoples’ disproportionate representation in crime statistics and reporting. Additionally, we review the research on intervention programs that are the most effective in curbing delinquency and helping youth reach their highest potential.
