Research on traditional terror and extremist activities in physical space has grown exponentially over the last two decades. Though there is a substantial focus on how we may affect individual involvement in extremism and violence, there is far less work considering the issue of extremist activities in online spaces, whether in speech or in direct attacks against services. This presentation will consider what information is needed to advance our understanding of ideologically motivated cyberattacks and how we may be able to implement interventions in this environment.
