Domestic violence (DV) and intimate partner violence (IPV) have significant societal impacts. This study assesses the effectiveness of Batterer Intervention Programs (BIPPs) in Texas using surveys from both program administrators and participants. DV aims to control an intimate partner, while IPV occurs in romantic relationships. Despite 50 years of BIPPs, evidence of their efficacy is mixed. The study hypothesizes that BIPPs reduce recidivism and improve behaviors, with significant result variations. It also anticipates gender differences in DV motivations, highlighting the need for comprehensive research to optimize BIPPs and support survivors.
