This session presents an examination of the experiences of student peer tutors in a Criminology and Justice Studies department, who provide support in statistics, research methods, writing, and theory. The session aims to share reflections from these tutors, highlighting the effective strategies they employed and the barriers they faced. Through their support, tutors play a critical role in enhancing the academic performance and comprehension of their peers, particularly in subjects that are fundamental to criminological research and analysis. Specific attention will be given to the tutors' experiences with different learning styles and instructors, the tools and resources that proved most beneficial, and the interpersonal dynamics within the tutoring sessions. By focusing on the tutors’ insights, the session will offer valuable lessons on how to enhance peer tutoring to better serve students and improve educational outcomes.
