Human Trafficking in the United States: High Risk Victims

Thu, Nov 14, 6:15 to 7:15pm, Golden Gate A+B - B2 Level

Abstract

Human trafficking is a prevalent issue for many countries around the world including the United States. This crime remains one of the most egregious human rights violations in the world. There are many factors that can make people more vulnerable to being trafficked including age, gender, and immigration status. This research project will examine these risk factors and attempt to understand how these individuals are trafficked. It is difficult to get the exact number of people that have been forced into any type of trafficking, but data clearly indicates that these vulnerability factors put people at risk. Finally, this research will also explore policies that have been put into place to prevent human trafficking.
