Criminal Justice Ethics and Student Decision Making

Thu, Nov 14, 6:15 to 7:15pm, Golden Gate A+B - B2 Level

Abstract

Ethics is one common core course requirement in many criminology and criminal justice programs across the country. However, there is an abundant lack of research on the material taught in these courses, and more specifically, how students navigate making ethical decisions in the criminal justice profession. This research poster examines a pre and post-test (from beginning to end of a semester) analysis of student’s decision making with various ethical issues and dilemmas. Since many undergraduate students also complete internships as part of their degree plan, this research poster specifically focuses on student’s hypothetical decision making in internship roles.
