Replicability vs Reproducibility in Criminology

Abstract

Reproducibility and replicability are related terms that both help improve the reliability of research results. Reproducibility is when the same results are achieved by reanalyzing existing data using the same research methods. Replicability is when the same results are achieved by conducting the entire research process again using the same methods but new data. Identifying these issues in Criminology is a critical feature of what makes us a science.
