Thu, Nov 14, 7:30 to 8:30pm, Golden Gate A+B - B2 Level

Abstract

This poster session examines the relationship among aging, chronic illness, regular substance use (abuse), and sex work in a sample of 35 African American Women from a city in Hampton Roads, Virginia. In-depth interviews were conducted over four months in 2020. Analysis is constant comparison method to develop themes and point up contrasts. Policy impact is determining how to address drug and crime trajectories for women who do not "age out" or "die out" as criminal justice research has long hypothesized.
