Terrorism and violent extremism activities have become a common phenomenon in sub-Sahara Africa. Despite the joint efforts by the United Nations, African Union and African subregional organizations to identify a lasting solution to this menace the activities of terrorist in the region continues to rise. To this end, the relationship between environment pollution and crime has aroused unending discussions amongst human right activist, environmentalists and criminologist. However, majority of the debates on this relationship are focused on violent assaults and property crimes. This study adopts cross-national study approach to investigate the effect of global warming and the emission of dangerous gas on the increased spade of terrorism in Nigeria. Policy implications will be addressed.
