Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This thematic panel includes presentations that highlight examples of projects aimed at disseminating criminal justice scholarship via methods that move beyond traditional modes of dissemination such as academic publications (e.g., books, journals etc.). The projects discussed in this panel contribute to public narratives while educating and informing others about various issues related to crime and justice. Each presentation in this thematic panel highlights the experiences of scholars engaged in presenting scholarly work in nontraditional settings, specifically podcasts and photo exhibitions. Details on project backgrounds, goals, logistical issues, and challenges will be shared. This panel will be informative for those who may be interested in developing their own project for nontraditional modes of dissemination. Behind the scenes issues and what it takes to disseminate information via nontraditional modes will be shared.
