Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) CrimeSolutions is a web-based clearinghouse designed to provide practitioners and policymakers with evidence-based information to make effective safety and justice decisions and increase the odds those decisions will yield the desired results. After more than a decade of rating programs and practices, NIJ launched a multi-pronged effort to assess CrimeSolutions for its content, face validity, usability, and utility to the field and made the most significant revision to the program scoring instrument since inception by moving towards rating programs by outcomes. This panel will describe the changes made to the CrimeSolutions rating methods and their implications, what has been learned about improving evidence communication, and additional recommendations enhancing the repository.
