Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
Since 1979, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) has been the authoritative source for national statistics about the federal criminal justice system. These data are primarily collected through BJS’ Federal Justice Statistics Program (FJSP). This panel discussion will feature an overview of BJS’s FJSP and present results from three recent papers generated using FJSP data. Additionally, the panel will include a report from BJS’s annual Federal Deaths in Custody collection, conducted by our Law Enforcement Statistics Unit.
