Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The Prison Research & Innovation Initiative (PRII) is a multi-year project that aims to build evidence and spur innovation to make prisons more humane, safe, and reliable environments. A core part of PRII is the Prison Research & Innovation Network (PRIN), a collective of five state departments of corrections and associated researchers who are working locally to understand and improve conditions in their facilities. This panel focuses on the role of community-engaged methods in the network and how researchers leveraged them to collect and analyze data, identify areas for reform, and implement change.
