The panel will discuss select findings from its collaboration with the Prison Violence Consortium. The Consortium is a partnership between seven state prison systems and correctional experts dedicated to investigating the causes and consequences of prison violence among incarcerated persons and correctional staff. Consortium members include the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry, Colorado Department of Corrections, Massachusetts Department of Correction, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Oregon Department Corrections, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Researchers pursued multiple methodologies, including analyses of administrative data, interviews with incarcerated persons, staff, and behavioral health professionals, and a systematic review of policy and training material.
