The goal of Latino/a/x criminology is too exchange, promote, and disseminate knowledge that contributes to criminological expertise and understanding of the rapidly growing U.S. Latina/o/x population. This panel features work from leading and rising scholars in Latino/a/x criminology. Presentations will explore diverse topics including the construction of Central Americans as a terroristic threat, the cultural transmission of threat into police training, and the outcome of when marginalized populations are deemed more threatening resulting in higher rates of officer-involved shootings.
