Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The proposed thematic panel focuses on research and actions pertaining to the issue of serious violence within the Arab society in Israel. This session comprises three lectures addressing the causes of serious and political violence among the Arab minority, as well as diverse prevention strategies. The first presentation showcases an evaluative study conducted by researchers from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, collaborating with the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, Jerusalem Municipality, and youth advocacy organizations. The other two spotlight a large-scale, collaborative project involving various governmental and social entities to mitigate serious violence in Arab society. This session offers an opportunity to assess the current state of serious violence in Arab communities while exploring recent research on global approaches to addressing this challenge.
