This thematic panel brings together researchers and professionals to explore innovations in serving victims and co-victims of violent crime through interactions with police. Panelists offer diverse perspectives and firsthand experience in advancing victim support within the criminal justice system in order to adopt a more victim-centered and trauma-informed approach. Focusing on supporting victims of violent crime and their interactions with police, the panel will present research findings, policy recommendations, and innovative strategies to enhance victim experiences, improve investigations, and promote overall public safety.
