Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
Prison and jail reentry remain a pressing policy issue despite more than 25 years of criminal justice research on and reform efforts to address the effects of mass incarceration. As policymakers, practitioners, and program developers grapple with effective reentry, new issues are emerging that present unique research opportunities and suggest new measures and methods are needed. This panel explores emerging reentry issues including elder, trauma-informed, and peer-led reentry, and examines the relevant research on interventions to address these issues. Panel presentations will also consider new reintegration measures and methods and offer recommendations for future research, practice, and policy.
