Abstract/Description

This panel is discussion-based and focuses on Dr. Rick Rosenfeld’s scholarship and career. Themes to be covered include crime trends, their causes, and related policy; crime forecasting; and Crime and the American Dream. In his final public comment on the field of criminology, among other important observations, Rick said “…the cardinal quality of a good social scientist is curiosity…” The audience will leave this session knowing the important places that Rick’s curiosity took him during his career and the ways that criminology has benefited from that.
