Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
This roundtable brings together several authors from the book Criminological Understandings of Horror Films: Reel Fear, edited by Krista Gehring, Stacie Merken, Emily Lenning, and Walter DeKeseredy. In this roundtable, editors and authors from the book will discuss how Reel Fear, which is the first book to examine horror films through the lens of criminology, came to be, how crime, crime victims, and criminals are represented in horror films, and the ways that the horror genre contributes to public fears about particular places, people, and identities.
