Roundtable: Active Learning Techniques

Abstract/Description

Active learning ensures students can discuss, synthesis, and apply knowledge they learn in the classroom to the real world. Furthermore, active learning techniques provide students opportunities to critically evaluate criminal justice policy, practice problem-solving, and become leaders in the classroom. Different forms of media and film can be used to facilitate active learning both in online and in-person modalities. This roundtable discussion will provide undergraduate and graduate instructors a venue to discuss active learning techniques, reflect upon how different forms of media facilitate active learning, and develop new ways to ensure student engagement and participation is accessible regardless of different learning styles.
