Session Submission Type: Lightning Talk Session
Since its inception in 2015, the Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC) has drawn heavily on data and analysis to help more than 50 participating sites develop reform strategies and assess their progress toward the overarching goals of reducing jail incarceration and increasing equity for all. Data has also served as a critical foundation for developing and sharing knowledge and lessons learned with the larger field to advance fair and effective reform work on a broader scale. This series of presentations provides a brief overview of learnings from SJC research studies over the past eight years across each research priority area: effective strategies, racial and ethnic disparities, public safety, case processing, COVID-19, and decision-making.
