Geography of Ransomware

• In Event: Mapping and Disrupting Ransomware: Structures, Spaces, and Investigation

Abstract

Computer crimes have been on the rise. One type of cybercrime is Ransomware. The association of ransomware with geography has been an understudied topic. Therefore, this study focuses on the literature on this relationship. Based on ransomware data collected from open sources, the research analyzes its relation to social and physical correlates of the phenomenon. Theoretical and empirical aspects are discussed in the study as well.
