Using self-reported data from the 2022 Minnesota Student Survey (N = 99,933), this study applies multivariate logistic analyses to explore juvenile delinquency from a general strain theory perspective. Informed by this theory, measures of unmet goals, loss of positive stimuli, and exposure to negative stimuli were used to inform research objectives with the aim to improve empirical understanding of the impact that various forms of victimization have on juvenile delinquency. The study also investigates whether gender differences in outcomes are apparent among juveniles who self-report. Results indicate that older adolescents and males were more likely to engage in delinquency. Results also demonstrate that various strains increase the risk of delinquency which show similar effects across gender.
