A Policy Analysis for Prevention of ATM and PoS Skimming

• In Event: From Counterfeit Goods to Skimming Threats: Expanding the Boundaries of Cybercrime Research

Abstract

ATM and point-of-sale system skimming has been on the rise recently. The purpose of the study is to understand the modus operandin of the problem and explore policies to prevent it. The current study reviews the literature on the problem, describes its patterns, and analyses responses to skimming. Our review brings together seven responses that are currently used to for prevention. Based on our research, we propose a new action plan.
