This study explores the fundamental elements of an effective training policy for police leaders, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing law enforcement operations. A review of existing literature identifies significant gaps in the structured approach to training police leaders, underscoring the need for a well-defined policy framework. This research seeks to bridge these gaps by outlining key training objectives, strengthening training delivery mechanisms, and ensuring robust governance of training programs. We used a mixed-methods approach to analyze training policies across multiple law enforcement agencies. Our findings highlight the necessity of occupational standards, leadership competencies, and ongoing performance evaluation. This study contributes to the field by presenting a comprehensive framework for designing and implementing police leadership training policies.
