The Effect of Police Behavior and BWCs on Transparency: Findings from a Randomized Controlled Trial

Thu, Nov 13, 2:00 to 3:20pm, Howard University - M1

Abstract

This study examines the effect of police behavior and body-worn cameras (BWCs) on transparency. Participants were randomly selected and then randomly assigned to BWC and procedurally (un)just conditions. They read a scenario involving these conditions and then completed a survey. The results showed that police behavior had a greater effect on transparency than BWCs.
